Back in the saddle again
Just got to the office. I went on a 2.5 hour bike ride, consisting of under 20 miles, with Marcus and friend Carlos this morning. I've never been so cold. Riding around here seems to alternate between busy, bumpy roads, nice flat hill or coastal roads, and horrendous inclines/declines. Here are a few pictures of my journey up the Wildcat Canyon, courtesy of the internet.
The incline was 4.0 km, mostly winding road
Once we got near the top, the incline lessened and the riding was fairly nice, enough so that I could breathe again.
The top, though, was breathtaking and almost worth the other 2 hours of torture.
Marcus and I ended the ride portion of our workday with a hearty breakfast at the Log Cabin Cafe - yum! I'm either going to get in really good riding shape pretty quickly, or start running full time. Time to get working on my paper!
