Suwannee River Image Map

Gifs=Index mode (color), no layer on a GIFMake map into RGB colorMake hot spots (clickable areas) 1. Add a new layer (name layers the name of hot spot)2. Select rectangular marquee and draw around area wanted to rollover (hot spot)3. Grab paint bucket-fill in marquee. For each new hot spot -create a new layer. (Shift, Control, N)4. Next layer-fill in marquee drawn around second hot spot.5. Select third hot spot, repeat.6. Save as a PSD and keep the layers.Next: Jump to Image Ready (at the bottom of tool box). Click on window and select Image map Palette.

Right click on layer selected: New Layer Based Image. (on layer palette) Then image map palette becomes activated. Can put URL in: Be clear about absolute/relative URL's. Fill in alt tag.

To Save: 1. Save Optimized as: (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S). 2. Got to: Output Settings, Image maps, type: Client-Side (always), Save as html.

Open Notpad to check out html code, right click on image map. Select jump to: then Notepad. Using a complicated map=is best in Image Ready. Especially for maintenance purposes. Can add layers or subtracted later.

Photo Image Maps are best done in Photoshop. Copy and paste into < > Dreamweaver Code.
