In
photoshop, be sure to save images for Web at 72ppi. When saving for
the Web use adaptive and Web snap. Play with percentages to fix jagged
edges. Work with the lossy to adjust. Work the number of colors to make
GIFs smaller.

for the web, be sure to use Web safe colors.
