Discussion of file transfer methods. Mindy recommended using the University of Florida's file transfer protocal (WS_FTP LE). After a brief description of the system, Mindy recommended downloading an FTP program from tucows.com, a freeware/shareware site. For inexperienced users, the GatorLink site was recommended.

Design Principles

1. Alignment Use tables for everything. The default is on the left for Internet explorer. -valign = top -width = 25% -align = left

2. Proximity Things that should be close, are. Avoid uncontrolled tables. Always keep captions with pictures. Create tables to be flexible to fit all size monitors.

3. Contrast different-most important items can be a different color or size type. Eyes go to the contrasting element first.

4. Repitition Design elements same of all related pages. Part of site design.

5. Style Sheets (.CSS) Text only, not HTML. Attaches to a Web page. May be an advantage for many pages.
