Who eats it: The Lapsed Vegetarian

Part of Krishna lunch's mission is to provide vegetarian food to the community. Krishna lunch helped one food science and nutrition major return to her vegetarian roots.

Diana Soto, a third-year student, eats Krishna lunch every day; she has been eating Krishna lunch for two years.

"It's not only the food I like, but the environment," she said. "It's the little time to socialize."

Soto, who was a vegetarian for 10 years, is trying to get back to her vegetarian lifestyle after veering from the path. She said it's easier to get protein from meat, except if she comes to Krishna.

Soto has brought other prodigals back to the Krishna lunch fold. Lina Fernandez, a food science and nutrition senior, hasn't had Krishna lunch since her freshman year but recently started coming to eat with Soto.
