The most stunning feature of the Florida Capitol is the view from the top. Twenty Two floors above the street, on a clear day you'll be able to see for miles. If your kids have been working hard to stay quiet all day, try hiking up the stairs. If the capitol isn't busy, the room seems extra large and is the perfect place to bring a packed lunch. If you want to buy lunch at the capitol, the cafeteria is located on floor LL1.
Make sure you pay attention to what elevator you are stepping onto to get to the top. Not all elevators go all the way up but they are clearly marked.
Besides being a large space with comfy chairs to take a break, the top floor also as a small art gallery that features Florida artists. Be sure to take a few minutes to enjoy Tallahassee from one of her most unique vantage points.
To enter the Capitol building you must pass through a metal detector and like all of the buildings featured here, the Capitol is ADA accessible from the Capitol Plaza side entrance.
