The first stop on your trip to Tallahassee should be the Historic Capitol Museum.
This free museum (donations are accepted) has many exhibits that are organized into rooms based on the three branches of government. This makes it possible to walk from room to room and explain each branch to your kids.
Temporary exhibits are also featured in the museum. Currently, Andrew Jackson is featured.
Be sure to stop at the desk on the main floor when you visit. The Historic Capitol Museum has the most friendly and knowledgable staff around. They are more than happy to anwser any questions your or your kids may have! At this location you can pick up an activity book, coloring book and senate kids handbook that will help guide your kids through the experience.
