Step Two - Place the CPU on the motherboard
There is a lever on your motherboard that will keep your CPU in place. Put it in the upright position, and then gently place the CPU into the socket. Take care not to force it if it doesn’t fit at first. A CPU is meant to only go one direction, and if you force it in the wrong way, the pins on the bottom will bend, which will most likely ruin it. Once it's in place, press down the lever. This will lock the CPU securely into the socket.
