Step Five - Mount the heatsink
Once you’ve applied the thermal paste, you should carefully set your heatsink on top of the CPU. Once you’ve set it in place, wiggle it back and forth ever so slightly to ensure that the thermal paste is properly spread. Next, clamp down the levers on your heatsink to hold it in place. There are many different kinds of heatsinks so your levers may not look like or work the way those in the picture do.
