This section of the page is designed to share what I have learned so that you can duplicate any of the work you see that I have created on this site. Video versions of all tutorials are also available, but I do not have space to host them right now. Geogebra Tutorial

Geogebra is a free math program for algebra, geometry, and more. You can get Geogebra at www.geogebra.org. In this tutorial you will learn how to use Geogebra to create java applet virtual manipulative. In this case, an interactive linear equation graph.

 

Microsoft Word Tutorials

Drawing diagrams in Word. In this tutorial you will learn about how to use the drawing features in Microsoft Word to create mathematical diagrams.
 
Writing equations in Word. In this tutorial you will learn how to use equation editor or an alternative program to add complex equations to Word documents.
 

Microsoft PowerPoint Tutorials

Hyperlinking in Excel. In this tutorial you will learn how to use hyperlinking in PowerPoint to add interactive multiple choice questions and create a browsable presentation. These are the same concepts that are used for creating games like jeopardy in PowerPoint
 
Advanced Animations in PowerPoint. In this tutorial you will learn how to use the advanced animation features in PowerPoint to model a word problem. Note that these features are only available in PowerPoint 2003 and later.
 

Microsoft Excel Tutorials

Basic Functions & Graphing. In this tutorial you will learn about how to use basic function and graphing features in Excel. You will create a graph of a quadratic function and find the average of a set of data.
 
Single-Use Spreadsheets. In this tutorial you will learn how to make a single-use spreadsheet. In this case you will create an interactive workbook for graphing the equation of a line and add interactive questions.
 
Exclets: Interactive Graphing. In this tutorial you will learn how to create an interactive graph of a linear equation by using sliders in Excel.
 

SWiSHMax Tutorial

This tutorial is intended to give an introduction to using SWiSHmax to create interactive Flash applets. You will need to have SWiSHmax on your computer to complete this tutorial. You can download a 14-day, fully functional trial version of SWiSHmax here or you can purchase the $20 educator's version here. All of the Flash Virtual Manipulatives in my portfolio were created in SWiSHMax.
