Hannibal is very thin and has been mutilating his wing
(warning: graphic picture) for several years. He is also missing several toes which makes it a little harder for him to perch securely. We are hoping his problems can be corrected by our vet.

Hova (pictured) has an unusual lower beak that splits in two like a set of boar's tusks. She seems to eat well despite this odd beak and is of normal weight. We are working on converting them to a pellet and veggie/sprout diet as they only eat seeds currently.

4/9/09:
Hannibal's wing has finally healed. It is unknown if he will pick at it but we are taking the collar off for short periods in hopes that he will leave it alone.

Description:

Penny was probably attacked by an animal at some point. She has some difficulty moving (problems with her legs/feet) around but seems to manage pretty well. She is missing feathers on some of her head and face. Her injuries have healed as well as they are going to and the feathers do not grow back. Penny was probably handfed as she does not bite and is quite gentle. She is not fond of being handled but could be very tame with some TLC and patience. Coco is a beautiful male. He is not aggressive but has no desire to interact with people. He will avoid human hands as much as possible and will only bite if grabbed. Part of a group of 20 cockatiels that was surrendered by a breeder.

Penny is very friendly and loves to be petted. Missing some feathers on one wing from a wing clipping that was done improperly when he was younger. Scooby is also tame but will only allow himself to be touched once he trusts you. He prefers to sit on someone's shoulder and just hang out there.

Birdie-Birdie is a tame 3 year old Lutino female cockatiel. She is finger trained and loves people. Shivers adores Birdie-Birdie and follows her every where. He is finger trained but can be a little nervous of hands. They are best buddies and must be adopted together as they are inseparable (Shivers and birdie are often touching or preening each other). These two need a little work on diet as they prefer seed, pasta, peas and rice over other vegetables or pellets.

Young male cockatiel. Very gentle but he is hand shy. Very calm stoic personality. He eats harrisons extra extra fine pellets and will now try sprouts. Romeo is terrified of cats so cannot go to a home that has him (he will stop eating if they even look at him). He loves being around other birds so the best home would be one with other cockatiels or other birds. Romeo is water bottle trained.
