The Purpose

Church for a Christian is like class for a student. It is to teach and prepare you for all of the tests that you will take in the future. So just like attending class is important for a student to do well, it is important for Christians to not only attend a local church but get plugged in.

How to Choose

Just like every university is not the same and some provide a better quality of education than others, every church is not the same. Contrary to popular belief, it does matter what church you go to.

The church that you call home should be a bible teaching, bible believing church that delivers the word of God to you in a way that is easy for you to both understand and apply to your life. The ministry you call home should also cause you to change your behavior and become more like Jesus. If church is just a show and it does not cause change and growth to take place, keep searching.

Plugged In?

Once you join a church the next step is to become an active serving partner of that church. The more involved you are, the more ownership you take of it and your relationship with God will develop because of you interaction in the church.

As you begin to serve you will start to take your faith more seriously and be encouraged to share what God is doing in your life with others.

The Result

The overall result of getting plugged in to a local church is spiritual growth. As you receive the word of God regularly and serve in church, your relationship with God will skyrocket because of environment you are in. By surrounding yourself with people who have your answers and not your problems you will take your relationship with God to a new dimension.
