Worked as a counseling practicum student with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.  Implemented small and large group counseling activities.  Held 3 individual students as clients.  Experienced most all duties the regular school counselor performed.

 

Community Activities

Collegiates Helping As Mentors in Public Schools (C.H.A.M.P.S.)  September 2000 – May 2001

 Mentor to fifth grade student in Gainesville, FL public school. Spent a few hours each week with mentee making crafts, tutoring, and helping with life experiences.

 

Howard Bishop Middle School.  Gainesville, FL.  September 2000 – May 2001

Volunteered with emotionally handicapped students.  Assisted instructor with daily lessons, student therapy, and disciplinary actions.

MSS SAIL Summer Reading Program.  Gainesville, FL. June 2002 – July 2002

Tutored 7th grade students for UF summer reading program for three hours a day for 4 weeks.Worked with students on reading comprehension, efficacy, and reading aloud.

 

Ross, retail store.  Gainesville, FL.   June 1999 – present

Back-up supervisor.  Duties include working on sales floor, training new hires, and putting out stock.
