New $14M Apartments Near UF Announced
Trimark Properties Announces New $14M Cascades Apartments, Opening Fall 2018
The neightborhood near UF campus and Sorority Row is where I've spent the majority of my time while I've been at the University of Florida, when not in classes. I spend a lot of time in the sorority house (chapter meetings, studying, free meals, being distracted by my sisters), and I know that a lot of my sorority sisters are in the same predictament as me. There's a scarcity of apartments near UF campus and sorority row, and we all fight for the best ones.
This is especially true for those of us that want to take advantage of the meal plans, since there is SO LITTLE parking at each of the Sorority Houses.
Last year, I noticed some construction underway in the area between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue near UF, just east of Ashton Lane apartments. I park in that area to get to the sorority house and my University of Florida classes, so I watched the constructione evolve. They seemed to be laying some sort of pipe work in the beginning and performing work on the roads, but then they started cleaning land, and now it looks like they are laying the foundation for a new apartment complex.
I got the official scoop from a friend at Trimark, who said that I could share the insider info.
Trimark Properties is officially announcing this week that they will be building Cascades Luxury Apartments. The four-story, $14 million dollar property will have over sixty apartments, ranging from studios to 4 bedrooms. In many ways, the apartments at Cascades will be similar to the apartments at Tuscana, located just down the street. The apartment complex will have upgraded kitchens with granite countertops, electric wine chillers, dual master suites (where each resident gets their own spa-like bathroom). Some of the apartments will have petrified wood floors, similar to those found at Archstone and Ashton Lane Phase II, but in a different color tone and slightly different material. No word yet on rental rates, but I expect that the apartments will be in line with the rates at their other apartment complexes nearby.
Cascades will also feature some unique amenities not found in Trimark's other apartments close to UF sorority row. There will be a rooftop terrace with lounging chairs and an arbor. Since it's on the rooftop, it will only be accessible by residents, which is a pretty cool perk of living there. I lived at the Estates on Sorority Row, and it had a private courtyard area on the ground, but I would have killed for a rooftop like the one shown below (that's just an inspiration sketch; apparently it will look a little different and won't have a fountain).

Pretty cool, huh?
