Academic Interest:

I am currently a senior in the Health and Human Performance College at the university of Florida. My major is health Education and Behavior with a concentration in health promotion. When I first started college, I was pre-medicine with hopes to become a doctor. I have since realized that physical therapy is what I want to do. In Physical therapy, you can actually see change and improvement, which touches my heart.

Three Year- Career Plan

In the far-future, I plan to become a pediatric physical therapist. My internship this up-coming spring is helping me to get to this point in my career. I will be working in Baltimore, Maryland at John's Hopkins children's hospital, Kennedy Krieger Institute. At Kennedy Krieger Institute, I will be assisting pediatric physical therapists in their daily routines, as well as incorporating my health education background to help them out with education materials for patients and their families. After my internship and graduation in May, 2008, I will complete the classes to enter physical therapy school and then continue to get my doctorate of physical therapy. I plan to take the Certified Health Education Specialist exam in April, 2008, and hope to use this to obtain a career in the health education field until I complete physical therapy school. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and helping them to change their lives for the better.
