University of Florida Design Guidelines Preliminary Analysis

UF design mapAt the invitation of the University of Florida and beginning in May 2002, UF architecture students working with Professors Tina Gurucharri and Kim Tanzer developed a conceptual framework through which to propose physical design guidelines for the University of Florida campus. Eight campus neighborhoods were identified and analyzed according to common criteria and the results were assembled into a document intended for use in future guideline development. In addition, a system of open and natural spaces and a system of primary, secondary and peripheral roadways were identified. Students are currently developing a web site demonstrating their work that will be linked to the Florida Community Design Center web site.
