The Florida Community Design Center's inaugural exhibit focused on the nexus of three of Gainesville's most prosperous and cleanest industries: health, healing and sports. Taking a cue from a sports complex proposed with the Depot Area Master Plan and a community-wide visioning process, the exhibit paired life-sized paintings of world-class Gainesville runners Jearl Miles-Clark and Dennis Mitchell with a model of a fitness corridor proposed for South Main Street. Artist Margaret Ross Tolbert loaned the FCDC her paintings and spoke at the opening, as did Olympians Jearl Miles-Clark and Marty Liquori. (See FCDC Projects and Events).
