Depot Project(s) Exhibit

Depot Master Plan exhibitBeginning November 14, 2001 the Florida Community Design Center exhibited all projects of significant community interest within the Depot Master Plan area. The site area was defined as part of an EPA grant undertaken by UF's Powell Center for Construction and Environment and the City of Gainesville in 1999. This project, demonstrated through a 12' x 12'; model of 800 acres of downtown Gainesville and an accompanying project report, was included in the exhibit. (See FCDC Projects) In addition, the Alachua County Courthouse model and drawings were shown, along with a series of boards contributed by Gainesville Regional Utilities highlighting Dover Kohl's work on the Kelly Power Plant campus in the Depot area. Proposals for a 21st Century Live-Work Block by UF graduate architecture students were included as well. This exhibit opened in the FCDC's original storefront location at 613 West University Avenue, then reopened at 300 East University Avenue in mid-February. November 14, 2001-March 16, 2002.
