Arbor House Addition
The Arbor House, located on NW 6th Street, describes itself as a Christian Maternity Shelter. Gwen Adair, the Executive Director, approached the FCDC and asked if we could develop the schematic design for an addition to their recently purchased and renovated building.
Masters of Architecture student Rick Dunn, working under the supervision of architect Kim Tanzer, provided this pro bono service in fall 2001. The proposed addition includes a group kitchen and dining space, a computer room and a series of bedrooms for women and their children, all arranged around an outdoor courtyard. Currently funds are being raised to realize the project.
