The Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) began in 1970 from a group of world class researchers in physical and information sciences for the purpose of developing information architecture and creating the "office of the future". As a leader in innovation for over three decaades, PARC is responsible for most of the ubiquitous computing technologies in the market today, including: laser printing, ethernet, and the graphical user interface (GUI).
