When planning which outpost to use, be aware of each trip's cost, length, and difficulty level. This information can be found on each outpost's website. You may also want to consider seasons when planning your trip, so you make sure you have rain gear or a hat depending on the weather.

Lars, an avid kayaker, said trips to Crystal River, Blue Springs, and Weeki Wachee Springs are popular in the winter because kayakers typically see manatees. In the summer, swimming in springs is popular on the guided tours.

Adventure Outpost

Adventure Outpost offers about 60 guided tours as well as unguided tours and speciality tours. They have four different Suwannee River tour options. They also offer tours along the Ichetucknee River and the Santa Fe River. Lars said most of their guided trips are educational. Whether you want to learn more about Florida's natural history or you want to visit the various springs along the river, they have the tour for you.

Costs average $50 per person for all of the tours. This includes a kayak, paddle, vest, transportation, and a guide. If you bring your own kayak, the price is $35.
