Make a paper doll chain, one doll for each member of your family. Decorate the front to resemble your family members. Write something special about each one on the back. Make acrostic poems with the word FAMILY. Write the word in capital letters down the left side of the paper. Write a word, phrase or sentence that describes your family.
 
Create a mobile about your family. Where you live, people in your family, pets, etc. Create a Family Haiku poem. Illustrate or create digital art for your poem.
   
Create a book in the shape of a house. Have students complete the sentence - My home is the very nicest place because_______. Create a colorful cover to the book. Listen to Just Like You and Me by Raffi. Research each country mentioned, locate on globe or map. Use this information to create a big book for your class.
Read Fathers, Mothers, Sisters, Brothers or other poetry for young children about families. Compose your own poems. Pick music or images to accompany your family poetry.
