Be integral members of Educational Team who focus on the concerns and issues of the whole school and system.

Promote, plan, implement prevention programs, career/college activities, course selection, placement activities & social/personal management.

Provide data snapshots of student outcomes, show implications, & achievement gaps to the school and provide the leadership for discussion of those implications.

Be effective in their presentation skills to multiple audiences. 

Demonstrate knowledge of ethical and legal issues impacting school counselors and students. 

Partake in School Leadership Team meetings to ensure the voice of the counseling office is heard when programmatic issues are addressed.  

Publish in professional Journals, such as Journal of Multicultural Counseling, School Counselor or  Journal of Counseling and Development and maintain my subscriptions in order stay abreast of current issues and topics. 

Continue to present workshops & seminars at the State and National Level.

 
Maintain my leadership role in University Associations, such as role of Treasurer of  UGA School Counseling Association & Secretary of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society.

Take elective courses in Educational Leadership & School Law to stay current on  the ever-changing conditions and emerging issues within the context of education.

Remain active in professional organization such as ASCA, GSCA & ACA and attend professional conferences and seminars.

Continue to maintain my paper resource file as well as my website of resources which contains articles, lesson plans, interventions, best practices and community resources.

Continue to attend community and school board meetings to stay abreast of issues effecting children and education within my community.
