An exploration
of the cognitive, affective, and behavioral considerations of
counseling culturally diverse client groups. Course includes
an introduction to counseling theories and programmatic approaches
relevant to the mental health needs and concerns of these groups,
including an examination of how cultural attributes, strategies, and
coping skills can be effectively synthesized into the counseling
process. Content places a strong emphasis on cultural issues as they
relate to schools. Emphasis placed on experiential
exploration.
