Involvement with Students, Parents, Education Professionals, Community, Community Agencies



Be brokers of services for parents and students from community resources/agencies as well as school system’s resources

Focus on academic counseling, learning and achievement, supporting student success

Employ brief counseling with students, groups, families.

Coordinate resources, human and other, for students, families, staff to improve student achievement (community, school, home, etc.).

Serve as key liaison for working with students and school staff on high aspirations for all students and for plans/support for achieving these aspirations.

Coordinate staff training initiatives which address student needs on a school wide basis.

Satisfactory completion and application of coursework in such areas as Counseling Theories and Practice, Cross-Cultural Counseling, Introduction to Group Counseling, Expressive Arts TherapyDevelopmental Counseling and Adlerian Family Counseling in order to improve my brief counseling skills with students, groups and families.

Continue my involvement in the ACT Early Research Team working with Clarke County school's teachers and students, to enhance academic and behavioral competencies of at-risk children.  

Continue in-service training as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), coordinating services with community agencies/resources, judicial and social service systems to meet the best interests of an abused or neglected child. 

Continue working with the Atlanta Outreach Center which involves me in the  community and allows me the opportunity to educate families and coordinate support systems for families at risk of child abuse and neglect within their communities.    

Complete the Pre-Professional Graduate Certificate Program in Marriage and Family Therapy to enhance my skills working with families.


Participation in Multi-disciplinary and Special Service Team meetings within the schools.

Practicum and Internship experience in individual and small group counseling.

Familiarization of community resources available through internet research, site visitations and collaboration with school personnel.
