HOW IT HAPPENED
During my spring break of my senior year, I flew home to Florida.
Fritz told me he had a surprise for me the next night, and would
only tell me to wear a nice dress. He stayed true to his word
and wouldn't even give me one hint as to what we were doing.(Even
though I certainly bugged him repeatedly about it!) He picked
me up, and we got in the car (running a few minutes late, my
standard). We conseqently got stuck in a traffic jam, which made
Fritz very nervous that we would miss our reservations (Me: "what
reservations? where are we going? where, where, where?"
Him, with a devilish smile on his face: "You'll see, baby!"
I couldn't crack him.) |

Well, we arrive in the beautiful town of St. Augustine!
We had a very romantic dinner at the Old City Inn, and talked
about our relationship and how much we meant to one another.
As we left the restaurant, I started walking to our car &
he pulled me in the opposite direction. He said, "I'm taking
you for a ride." He had arranged for a horse-drawn carriage
to pick us up! The weather was a bit windy, and during dinner
he had mysteriously gone to the restroom (for 45 seconds- he
said he just had to pee "a little" Haha!!). During
this time he was arranging for our waiter to get me blankets
so I wouldn't be cold! He's so thoughtful! :) Well, we rode the
carriage all around town, and our tour guide pointed out all
the sites as we were cuddled up under our blankets. He had also
prearranged for a stop to be made at Maria Sanchez lake, where
we got out and walked to the edge of the water. There, he turned
me to him, and said some very sweet and beautiful words, about
how much I mean to him, he thanks God every day for me, and how
he wants to spend his life with me. He got down on one knee,
and pulled out the most beautiful diamond ring. He said, "Sarah,
I would be so honored if you would wear this ring and become
my wife. Will you marry me?" I said, "Of course,Fritz!
Yes, yes, yes!" I was crying, and so was he. He got up,
picked me up and spun me around, and we went for a moonlit walk
on the beach. And the rest is history...
