Scholarships & Fellowships

Undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships are forms of aid that help students pay for their educations. Unlike loans, they do not have to be repaid. Scholarship criteria vary. Generally, scholarships and fellowships are reserved for students with special qualifications, such as academic, athletic or artistic talent. Awards are also available for students who are interested in particular fields of study, who live in certain areas of the country or who demonstrate financial need.

Endowed scholarship and fellowship funds are made possible by the generosity of our friends and alumni. As permanent funds, they are critical to the University of Florida because they generate predictable, growing streams of income in perpetuity.

Moreover, scholarships and fellowships provide great encouragement to our students - financially and emotionally. Students who have received these scholarships often note that this help came at a time when they were unsure they could be able to continue their studies. Simply knowing that someone cared enough to contribute financially to support them renewed their sense of purpose and commitment to their educations.

After graduating, many UF students go on to successful careers and are eager to "repay" their alma mater for the help they received. In creating student assistance funds, they not only strengthen our school by enabling UF to recruit the best and brightest students from around the world - they also show students the value of philanthropy and the joy of helping others.

Through the generosity of our donors, generations of scholars for years to come will be able to receive financial assistance to pursue their academic goals. We would like to pay tribute to these donors here, as well as list their scholarship fund criteria and application information.
