Abstract

Many times you see or hear an ambulance or police car drive by with the alarms turn on. Upon arriving at their destination most of the time they have to be the first responder. This means if anyone if hurt they have to call 911 and then begin CPR. The head tilt chin lift video can teach individuals how to reach and do CPR on somehow who is not breathing. The video also comes with a text book that is written by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Not only is the video current and accurate but it also stimulates leaning and it also uses a live person to show a more accurate scenario. For $54.95 you can receive the text book and all the videos. The videos can be used in community teaching agencies and in academic setting such as schools. The overall vocabulary is not entirely based on medical terminology however; responders will be able to learn terms used by doctors and officers.

Critical Comments

1.      Quality. The quality of the video was very good. It contributed to the other videos and text that puts first responder training together.

2.      Content. The video was very accurate and informational. It had current information regarding how to perform a head tilt chin lift to do CPR on a person.

3.      Purpose. I believe that the video will do a excellent job in educating and stimulating the individual’s mind. It will also entertain because a real person was also used to demonstrate the mechanism, this will help to facilitate a better understanding of what to do.

4.      Unique. The video is unique in the sense that the information was written and performed by doctors. This helps to bring about effectiveness in the video because individuals will trust the information they receive on the video more because it is coming from professionals who do this mechanism probably everyday.

5.      Format. The video format works well for this particular demonstration. Individuals will learn easier and better because they are able to see what the instructor is doing and where the figures and body is being place when conducting the head tilt chin lift maneuver.
