Academic Interest

My academic interest is the prevention, promotion and awareness of HIV/AIDS. After I graduate with my Bachelors in Health Education and Behavior I want to work at a county health department where I want to do outreach programs in communities where the socioeconomic levels are low and has a large number of minorities. By doing this I will be helping individuals and communities combat the tragedy of HIV and AIDS. I hope someday to lower the rate of new HIV infections by working with high rish groups and also to raise money for charity through special events that will go towards research for a vaccine for AIDS.

Three-Year Career Plan

May 2006

Pursue an internship at Shands @ UF in the Lactation Department. Teach new mothers the importance of breastfeeding, work with pregnant teen mothers and provide community resources for families.

August 2006

Graduate with Bachelors in Health Education and Behavior from the University of Florida

September 2006

Start working full-time in a health education setting such as a hospital, clinic or healthy department. Work with minorities that have low income and high risk of contracting HIV. Start counseling individuals who have HIV and work with them to help them live more healthy and quality lives.

June 2007

Receive my Certified Nursing Assistant license from an accredited college.

January 2008

Start Masters program at UF in the College of Human and Health Performance.

August 2008

Promoted to a managerial position in health education and promotion.

August 2009

Graduate with my Masters in Public Health from the University of Florida.
