1. Update your display card driver by downloading the latest driver from the respective display card manufacturer's websites. Many "hidden" functions will be released when new driver is installed. 2. Download the latest DirectX driver from Microsoft, it does help increase the display speed somewhat. Current version is 9.0a. 3. Enable the "Fast write" and "Side band addressing" options if you have or if you can in the Bios menu. 4. Display card can also be "overclocked" independently. Most people do so by using a software called Powerstrip. 5. Display card has its own Bios, that means it can also be updated. But I recommend you not! Last but not least, be VERY careful with the voltage of some early AGP display cards, those antiques are likely to be 3.3V, and most modern motherboards equip with a 1.5V AGP slot. The tricky thing is those old cards can always be fitted in those new boards. Matrox G400 is a good example of this situation. If you plug it in and turn on your PC, God bless you. |
