Essay Assignment

Due Date: Monday, March 16, 2020

As I indicate in my Syllabus, each member of the class will produce a written project during the course of the semester. This assignment will count for 10% of your final score and will be graded on a pass/fail basis, subject to the following RULES:

1. Content: Choose any topic that has been or will be covered during the class, as described in the reading assignments notes section. No research needs to be conducted outside your edited class materials and class notes. This is a creative-writing project. I want you to produce a simple essay about a subject that we have or will discuss in our class. Imagination and good humor are strongly encouraged. When referring to our materials, please cite specific pages in parenthesis. I will assume that "(p. ##)" is a citation to a page in our edited materials, therefore, do not use a full-citation format.

2. Length: No less than two, no more than three typed letter-size pages. At 1,800 characters, all inclusive, per page, that is no less than 3,600 and no more than 5,400 characters total.

3. When, Where and How: DUE DATE: Monday, March 16, 2020. ALL ESSAYS MUST BE UPLOADED on CANVAS AS MS WORD or PDF attachments ON OR BEFORE 5:00 P.M.

4. Discussion. I will be happy to sit down with you during office hours to discuss your project and how it might translate into a good exam essay.
