Course Objectives and
Description:
In
order to understand the complex issues surrounding drug use in our
society, it is important to recognize the diversity that exists among
drugs and their effects on the mind and body.
This course is designed to introduce students to the physiological,
psychological, and sociological effects of legal and illegal drug use.
The goal of the class is to educate students so that they can make
informed decisions concerning future behaviors.
To accomplish this goal, we will use a variety of learning
techniques including lectures, videos, small group discussions and class
discussions. Student
participation is crucial for the success of the course.
