Reading Takes You Everywhere Books are Your Ticket

 Independent Reading Requirements
In the third grading period, you must read at least three “just right books” of different genres during your independent reading time in class and at home. One of these genres must be nonfiction. I must approve each book before you begin reading. To document your comprehension you must do the following:
1. Pass the corresponding Reading Counts test if one is available at school.
2. Prepare and submit a book report on each of the book you read. Book report guidelines are available on Moodle and in the Reading Response drawer in the classroom.
3. Prepare a PowerPoint slideshow about one of your books. The slideshow should be a ‘Visual Booktalk” with at least 8 slides.

Remember, you must read for 30 minutes each at home daily and for 30 minutes each day during silent reading time.

Book Reports:  You may use a book report template to complete your book report.  Just download the form, type onto the form (using complete, descriptive sentences), and send it to me.  You can upload the doc on Moodle (see reading course), email it to me, or print your doc and put it in the workbox.
