Throwing

T-Position

Along with catching, this fundamental element of the game of fastpitch must always be mastered. Beginning with the basic T-position, while pointing the glove at the target, the throw should always be aimed towards the chest region of the target. If your fundamentals are correct, the throw may go high or low, but at least it will be straight, which is the main objective in the majority of scenarios. Infielders often will compact the throw by receiving the ball and immediately bringing both hands to their ear on their throwing side, with their elbows pointed at the target and their bodies shifted. This helps eliminate time on the play and allows the player to efficiently get the ball from air/ground to glove to hand to target. The basic fundamentals remain intact.
