Dr. Stein's Current Consultations in Japan

I am Gerald H. Stein, MD, FACP. At the conclusion of 7 1/2 years teaching basic clinical skills, lecturing to residents and consulting with staff physicians about their general internal medicine problems in Japan, I have returned to my home in Gainesville Florida USA.

Those past years were devoted to the medical educational needs at a community based teaching hospital, Kameda Medical Center, Kamogawa, Chiba, Japan, where I was director of medical education and professor-in-residence. During those many years I was pleased to be invited to teach and consult usually once monthly at several other distinguished academic-oriented hospitals in Japan.

Additionally I completed a 5 month assignment for the University of Hawaii at their affiliate Okinawa Chubu Hospital.

Currently I am returning to Japan once yearly to teach and consult. Most recently 2019/06 I led PBL seminars at Chubu Rosai Hospital, Nagoya 2nd Red Cross Hospital, Shonan Kamakura Hospital, Kariya Toyota Hospital, Toyota Memorial Hospital, Kyoto Min-iren Chuo Hospital, Daido Hospital, and Nagoya Memorial Hospital. The American College of Physicians-Japan Chapter invited me to give during their annual meeting in Kyoto. In addition, they presented me with the Sakura Award of Excellence.

I had been faculty in Tokyo at the Noguchi Medical Research Institute's medical education seminars and externship selection programs since 11/2001, most recently 12/2010; summer, 2011, I served as faculty for the Noguchi ‘Summer Medical School,’ held at Juntendo Medical University. Lastly I have conducted infectious diseases emergencies lectures with Dr. Aoki Makoto twice yearly from 2005 to 2016 when I consult at Nagoya Chubu Rosai Hospital.

A listing of all Japanese facilities where I have lectured can be found in
my CV, archived at this website.

In the interim I enjoy my weekly attending teaching physician, Mobile Outreach Clinic, College of Medicine, University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, and consulting at the Gainesville Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center as physician, environmental agents.
