ABOUT INSER-LAB

Outreach

Outreach

In addition to serving as a resource for researchers, InSeR‐Lab will outreach to the following populations:

Student participation

We pursue student engagement and awareness of new technologies to support decision‐making in virtual environments and the generation of enthusiasm through demonstration of the tools and methodologies that have been created in the lab. Student group participation can take place in face to face or in teleconferencing settings organized by the associated faculty.

Construction Industry Participants

We intend to develop seminars and workshops to expose new information technologies for social collaboration to improve industry participants’ efficiency in their decision‐making. The presentations will demonstrate the Laboratory research contributions and methodologies for effective use of materials during the life cycle of the project.

We look to deploy a flexible cyberinfraestructure (CI) to students, the community, and industry to enable the interfacing of networked actors to support usable, pervasive, and interoperable networked semantic resources and services. This CI will facilitate: (1) collaborative virtual environments for geographically and temporally dispersed actors, as they may belong to different disciplines and communities; (2) secure interaction and management of discoveries, and (3) transparent access to resources and services for construction actors.
