Oral Language/Listening Comprehension
Giving Directions -This site describes a variety of classroom activities designed to help students with the important survival skills of asking and giving directions. This site offers downloadable Information Gap and Cloze worksheets.
Telephone English: Making Plans -This lesson has role-play exercises. Teachers can download worksheets for activities in which both callers and receivers practice listening and speaking in addition to scheduling appointments.
What's Your Favorite Food? - Students have opportunities to practice oral language and listening comprehension as they conduct a survey about favorite foods.
Telephone Skills -Downloadable dialogue worksheets require students to locate a partner with a coordinating conversation snippet.
Drama-But Yes Dialogue Game -Although designated elementary, teachers at the secondary level could also use this Internet resource for game directions. They will need to provide topic sentences, perhaps from a current unit of study.
Talking About Families -This activity, designed mainly for upper-beginning students and higher,requires students to listen to a conversation about a family. As an extra scaffold and integration of reading into the activity, the site offers a script of the audio. 
School Subjects -This activity, designed mainly for upper-beginning students and higher, helps students learn important school vocabulary. Once again, students can listen to a recording of the correct pronunciations.
Listening for Vowel Sounds -This site for beginning English Language Learners offers the additional scaffolding of pictures as well pronunciation recordings designed to help students  discriminate between phonemes.
Listening to English Pronunciation -This site offers scaffolding for beginning English learners, allowing them to practice confusing minimal pairs.
Conversations:Negative Questions -This activity is appropriate for intermediate ESOL students struggling with the English syntax of question formation.
