- Kai Juge and Mikayla Lamb, members of the Student Science Training Program working in the Nontraditional Manufacturing Lab for the summer, presented their summer research findings on July 28, 2016.
- Max Stein was recently accepted to attend the International Symposium on Flexible Automation in Cleveland Ohio to present his paper on “Magnetic Abrasive Finishing of Non-Axisymmetric Curved Surfaces Using a Rotating Magnetic Tool”.
- Daniel Ross was recently accepted to attend the Manufacturing Science and Engineering Conference at Virginia Tech to present his paper on the “Polishing Characteristics of Transparent Polycrystalline YAG Ceramics Using Magnetic Field-Assisted Finishing”, which was accepted for publication within the conference proceedings.
- At RAPID, Sean Dobbs, Eduardo Moreno, Daniel Ross and Max Stein answered questions concerning manufacturing in today’s society and gave their thoughts on the future of additive manufacturing.
- Members of the laboratory represented the University of Florida at an additive manufacturing conference called RAPID. As members of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), attending lab members served as peer mentors and advisors to high school students.
- Valens Nteziyaremye successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation on May 12, 2016. Upon graduating, Valens will work for Intel as a Processing TD Engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon.
