Gainesville Apartments & Houses for Rent Near UF

Up until this last week, we've been working pretty hard on the Gainesville apartment ads and info. In particular, we've been focused on putting together ads for the new luxury apartments that are being built at Sabal Palms and Stratford Court, for next Fall. I'm pretty impressed with these-- especially Sabal. I think that Ashton Lane is gorgeous-- way nicer than the apartments I've seen at the other new apartment complexes in Gainesville, like Jefferson on 2nd Ave. And Sabal is being modeled off Ashton, so I've enjoyed helping pick out the photos and create the marketing materials that will really showcase what Sabal Palms apartments will be like. Plus, they are right by Theta, so I'm sure it's going to be full of people who are UF students like me. It's been a great experience.

Earlier this week, though, we've begun working on ads for the houses for rent in Gainesville, Fl -- specifically the houses right around campus. I always thought of Trimark more as an apartment management company. Until I began working here, I didn't know about their rental houses near UF. You just don't hear about these often, probably because they are almost always fully leased. Since the houses are so close to campus and so big, what often happens is that a group of 5 UF students rent it, then one graduates but the rest renew and find another roommate, etc. It's what's known as a legacy lease. Several of the houses that I've seen are fully leased now through August 2010, almost 2 years away.

This year, a couple of the more popular houses have residents who are all graduating, so after years and years of renewals, they are becoming available for Fall 2009 move-in. One of the 5 bedroom houses close to UF is known as the 221 House and is located at Heritage Oaks, which is behind the Holiday Inn on the corner of University Avenue and 13th Street (basically, a couple blocks from the Swamps and walking distance to Library West and the UF Business School). The 221 House is the house that Charlie Pell, the UF Football coach a few years back, used to live in. I'm not sure if its the mystique of living in a house where a UF football coach lived, or the fact that it's so spacious and upscale, but the house has been rented without vacancy for YEARS. We went over pictures yesterday and I was surprised. Heritage Oaks has apartments, too, and I'd never seen pictures of a house like this. It has hardwood floors and a loft bedroom on the 2nd story that runs the full length of the house. Pretty impressive, by anyone's standards. Check out the photos below:

Pretty impressive, right?

Next week, we'll start working on ads for the Gainesville apartments and houses near UF again, but I'm glad I've had this experience. Writing ads or designing brochures for the apartments is a lot easier, but the houses are rewarding because they're so COOL looking. I'm totally jealous of the people living in these houses!
