My academic interest incorporates two subjects. One being sex education and the second is environment health. I am interested in educating and promoting safe sexual practices, especially among college students. That's why I've chosen my target audience for my internship as university students in a major city. I feel environmental health is of the essence to all generations and is important for the future. I believe it needs to be brought to the public’s attention because it affects our lives now and the lives of our children. It can also have astonishingly positive impacts at a workplace that employers take for granted.

I first want to begin my career with my internship this summer at the Florida International University Wellness Center located in Miami, Florida. Then I plan on graduating from the University of Florida with a bachelor in Health Education and Behavior and with a specialization in Health Studies. Once I've graduated in August I plan on moving to Atlanta where I would hope to work for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for at least a year as a health educator. I would wait to see if everything is going well to continue working for more experience or to further continue my education. I definitely want to go back to school within three years. I'm still debating whether I want to go back for a degree as a Registered Nurse or continue with a Masters in Public Health. Depending on what degree I end up seeking would lead to the career I will ultimately pursue.
