Dana and her dog, Muffin, on a trip to Ohio to visit relatives.

Dana Edwards is an undergraduate student studying journalism and history at the University of Florida. After participating in National History Day throughout her middle and high school years, she discovered her passion for history. She has experience as a contributing writer for the Tallahassee Democrat in Tallahassee, Fla. as well as with Tower Publications Magazines in Gainesville, Fla. In her middle and high school years, she served as editor-in-chief of the school yearbook and newspaper in addition to winning awards at yearbook workshops. As a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society, she hopes to incorporate history with her writing, online media and design skills for a future career.

Dana is an avid reader, a huge dog-lover, a craft artist, and lover of the arts. Her favorite books include Harry Potter, The Historian, Jane Eyre, The Importance of Being Earnest, Fahrenheit 451, The Poisonwood Bible, novels by Agatha Christie, and poems by Dorothy Parker. She loves crafting of any kind; usually her gifts to others are something she has made. Ballet is her favorite “sport” (she danced for 16 years) and she plays the piano.
