Tips for Teachers

Getting Started
-To start capturing your images you can use any camera, from a disposablecamera to a 35mm SLR, digital still or video camera.
- Although The VR Worx software is sophisticated enough to correct errors in the alignment of hand held photos, a tripod with a panoramic head and leveling device should be used.

How do I know how many shots to take to create my panorama?
As a rule of thumb this shot guide will help you in determining how many shots to take to create a panorama

Focal Length (35mm equivalent) Minimum Images Degree Increments
o 15mm 10 images 36 degrees
o 20mm 12 images 30 degrees
o 35mm 20 images 18 degrees
o 40mm 24 images 15 degrees
o 50mm 30 images 12 degrees

What is a nodal point and why is it so important?
-A nodal point of a camera is the exact point within the lens where the image inverts.
-It is the spot within the camera lens through which all-incoming light rays pass.
-Rotating the camera about this point when shooting for panoramas ensures that the relative positions of objects within your scene do not change from image to image, failure to do so results in ghosts or double images.
