Recent Event Updates:

On Saturday, April 22, the Florida Z Association held "The Rights of Spring," a solo/autocross event to kick off the Florida Challenge 2006 calendar. Thirty-four Datsun and Nissan Z-cars competed in the event. Rolling start, timed solo laps began well before noon, however the event was cut short by heavy rains after each car made around nine runs on the road course. An overcast day and cooling tack conditions contributed to a couple of exciting spins, but everyone had a great time with no major mishaps. Top honors went to Bill Coffey with fastest time of the day of 50.19 seconds in his SCCA national solo championship 240Z. Brad Alderman narrowly beat Jerry Epperly for top honors in the street 300ZX class with 54.06. Joseph Mitchell was right behind them in his street 350Z, taking fastest time in his class with 54.26 seconds. Clark Stephens closely chased the battle in his race prepared 280Z with a 54.28, and Rich Lewis took honors in the street 240Z class with his fastest run of 55.09 seconds. Thanks to all those who coordinated and participated in the event.
