Biography

I was born on Oct. 31, 1987 in Daytona Beach, Fla. I have lived in the same house all my life with my parents Jim and Loretta and younger brother Jimmy. My brother Jimmy and me

My parents are both teachers--my mom teaches fourth grade in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and my dad is a math curriculum specialist for all public schools in Flagler County. Although I lived in Daytona Beach, I commuted at least 30 minutes to school every day because I went to school where my parents taught.

I grew up going to church, and I have been a follower of Jesus Christ since I was 13 years old. Being a Christian is the most important aspect of my life, My roommate and me in St. Pete and I want to show that to everyone I know. I am very involved with my church group, Gators for Christ, in Gainesville, and I am currently a women's ministry intern at University City Church of Christ.

I graduated from Flagler Palm Coast High School in Bunnell, Fla. in May 2006. I was involved in varsity volleyball, varsity basketball, marching band, concert band, Future Problem Solving, Community Problem Solving, and several service organizations My best friend from high school Amanda and me on my birthday 2007 including National Honor Society, Leo Club, Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society.

All of these extracurricular activities have helped me to form many lasting friendships throughout my life. Without my friends and family, I would not be the person I am today.

After graduation, I want to be a high-school journalism or English teacher. Growing up with teachers for parents, I have learned to appreciate the value of education, and I hope to be a good role model for young students and help them to be better writers. Several of my teachers from high school have also influenced my decision to teach because they all made a lasting impression on my life, especially Diane Tomko, Carla Traister and Warren Sanson.
