In July 2005, I attended the ASAE Annual Meeting in Tampa Florida. I presented the paper entitled "Climate Information to Reduce Farm Risk"
In April 2005, I attended the
Annual Meeting from the Society for Applied Anthropology held
at Santa Fe. I presented the paper entitled "Proactive
Environmental Protection: Modeling North Florida Dairy Farms and
Their Environmental Impacts"
In March 2005, the Climate
Prediction Applications Science Workshop Research and Applications
on Use and Impacts was held in New York at the International
Research Institute for Climate Prediction of Columbia University.
I presented the paper entitled: The
Value of Climate Information when Farm Programs Matter.
In April, 2004, the 6th
European Symposium on Farming and Rural Systems Research and Extension
was held in Vila Real, Portugal. I presented the paper entitled
"Economic
and ecologic assessment of groundwater nitrogen pollution from
north Florida dairy farm systems: an interdisciplinary approach."
In March, 2004, I was able to participate in several conferences.
One was the annual meeting from the Society
for Applied Anthropology held in Dallas, Texas, in which I
presented the paper entitled Participatory Modeling of North Florida
Dairy Farm Systems. Other was the annual meeting from the Florida
Academy of Sciences held in Orlando, Florida, in which I presented
a paper entitled "Economic
and ecologic assessment of groundwater nitrogen pollution from
north Florida dairy farm systems: an interdisciplinary approach."
Another was the
Climate Prediction Applications Science Workshop held in Tallahassee,
Florida, in which I presented the paper entitled "El
Niño southern oscillation impact on nitrogen leaching in
north Florida dairy farm systems." And another meeting
was the Biological
Systems Simulation Conference held in Gainesville, Florida,
in which I presented the paper entitled "El
Niño'southern oscillation impact on nitrogen leaching in
north Florida dairy farm systems."
In November, 2002, the 17th
Symposium of the International Farming Systems Association
was held in Lake Buenavista, Orlando, Florida. Besides of being
an assistant in the organization and development of the meeting,
I presented a paper entitled Family
Dynamics and Household Welfare in Cañete, Peru inside
the Farming Systems Knowledge and Information Systems thematic
workshop and a Poster entitled People
and the Planet: Meeting the Challenges of the New Millennium Interdisciplinary
Ecology and Farming Systems at the University of Florida inside
the theme Farming Systems Education thematic group.
In September, 2002, I went to Castelvecchio, Pascoli, Italy to
present a paper at the International
Workshop on Regional Integrated Assessment of Climate Impacts.
I presented the paper Assessing
the Impact of Long-Term Climate Forecast on North Central Florida
Livestock Producers Using Linear Programming.
In December, 2000, I presented a paper at the 27th
National Agricultural Education Research Conference, NAERC
2000 held in San Diego, California, USA. The paper was about Extension
and Development with the title: A
Formative Evaluation of Valle Grande Rural Institute in Cañete,
Peru.
A video, in which I presented the paper Farm
Problems, Solutions, and Extension Programs for Small Farmers
in Cañete, Lima, Peru was prepared and presented in
the 16th
Annual AIAEE Conference that was held in Arlington Virginia
in March-April, 2000.
In October 1999, as a part of a team of six graduate students
from the University of Florida, under the guidance of Dr. Peter
E. Hildebrand, I presented the paper Modeling
Diversity within an Agricultural Community in Peru. This meeting,
the 4th
Biennial Meeting from the North American Chapter, International
Farming Systems Association was held on Guelph, Canada.
