Academic Interests: I will be graduating with my Bachelors in Science in Health Science Education this semester! And one week after graduation, to be exact, I will be starting the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program here at the University of Florida! (I still haven't stop grinning from ear to ear since I found out early last week!) So much for a vacation!

Three-year Career Plan: In two-and-a-half years, which would be in December 2007, I will be graduating with a Masters of Science in Nursing, at which point I would be a Nurse Practitioner. However, if I choose to do the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program, I would have to get two years of experience before pursuing the full-time Masters track of study. Whatever the case may be, I will be a Nurse Practitioner before I even know it!
I definitely love the excitement, and the mixture of caring for people and the adrenaline rushing through my system, that is present in any intensive care unit! And not to mention, I would never have a boring day. Right now, I am doing my internship at Shands in the Neonatal Unit working with the Lactation Consultant, and I absolutely love it. And, once I become a nurse and get enough experience under my belt, I hope to be a flight nurse someday! And years from now, I hope to return back to teaching, or to academia in general, since I have the patience and the mindset to teach and care about the future of nurses and undoubtedly about our healthcare.
