Wave and Tidal Energy is another renewable source which has a lot of potential. Currently we are able to get some energy from hydropower
which is mostly the use of dams. Wave and tidal power are a little different and could provide much more energy. The technology
exists but there is a lot of room for improvement. The concept is to place turbines in the oceans and other major bodies of water which
would be able to generate power by using the energy of waves, currents, and the tides. The technology is being used in Europe already
in the areas which possess strong currents around Denmark, Britain, and the Netherlands. In the United States the Gulf Stream off
the coast of Florida is seen as a major potential source of power with some experts predicting turbines in this current could
eventually provide up to one-third of Florida's energy.
