Lord Peter Wimsey is one of literature's great detectives. He came into the world in 1923, when Dorothy L. Sayers wrote her first detective novel, Whose Body? This book established Lord Peter as a wealthy and witty aristocrat. He solves crimes as a hobby, with the help of his valet Bunter and his friend Inspector Parker. Later he is joined by Miss Climpson, and the love of his life, Harriet Vane.
