Career Plan & Academic Interests Academic interests Throughout my college career I have dedicated most of my time and energy in the Health field. I have a great passion for the importance of helping others and improving their quality of life. Within the health field, I have found a great interest in physical therapy, as well as studying the anatomy and physiology of the human body. In addition to my health related studies, I also have spent much of my academic time fulfilling my love for dance. Career Plan In spring of 2009, I will be participating in a clinical internship at the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Institute at Shands. During this internship, I will be specializing in the area of sports performance and physical therapy. After completing my Bachelors of Science in Health Education and Behavior with a specialization in Health Promotion, I will attend graduate school to pursue a doctorate of physical therapy. This program will consist of three years of study and field work that will prepare me for my future in this career. Ideally, my ultimate goal upon graduation of physical therapy school would be to work in a sports-related physical therapy position, such as working for an athletic team or a dance company. However, I also have a passion for working with children and would be inclined to work as a pediatric physical therapist. I know the next three years of my life will be a challenge, yet with goals in mind and dedication, anything is possible.
