Case Study #8: Sara ~ A Very Special Student

This case study was offered by Nancy Walkup, an Art Education Professor, from Texas.

When I was teaching middle school art, a girl named Sara, who was born with no arms and legs, was placed in my class. I was unsure of my ability to meet Sara's needs. She never had an art class before, but really wanted to take art. So I agreed to take her in my class.

If you were Mrs Walkup, how would you work with Sara? What types of art experiences would you offer her?

Find out how Mrs. Walkup worked with Sara in the classroom.
